Joao C. Fernandes, BSc EE, TÜV FSEng Principal Consultant & Managing Director
With over 33 years of specialized experience in the Kuwaiti Oil & Gas sector, Joao “Johnny” Fernandes is a recognized authority in Functional Safety and Process Safety Management (PSM). A graduate of Texas Tech University and a TÜV Certified Functional Safety Engineer, he has dedicated his career to ensuring industrial excellence across major facilities for KOC, KNPC, and EQUATE.
From leading $250M+ ICSS projects at ABB to pioneering the first comprehensive Fire & Gas maintenance contracts at Kuwait Oil Company, Joao combines deep-rooted field engineering expertise with modern digital innovation. As the founder of ADIN Industrial Controls, he bridges the gap between legacy hardware and Industry 4.0 through custom IIoT cloud integration with expert-led SIL validation services.
Whether within the industrial world or in his artistic pursuits, Joao applies a consistent standard of precision and dedication. As a musician, he brings a specialized focus to audio engineering and music production, treating signal integrity, system harmony, and voicing in the studio or for live events with the same technical rigor as a safety system. This drive is equally reflected in his commitment to sport and long-distance running, mirroring a professional philosophy built on endurance, consistency, and a continuous eagerness to grow through practice and collaboration.
